Вышедший 15 2021 января большой сюжетный мод для Fallout: New Vegas обещает десятки часов игрового времени, зимние пейзажи, новых интересных обитателей Пустошей, зимние пейзажи северного штата Орегон. И, самое вкусное, возможность управлять автомобилями.
Между прочим, одним из первых наших заданий будет охрана танка Шерман. Он движется, стреляет, его надо ремонтировать. Правда, иногда он движется боком, но не будем обращать внимание на такие мелочи. А почти первое, что мы увидим в во Фронтире – летающие конвертопланы. Они же вертизёбры, они же вертиберды.
Главный минус модификации – отсутствие перевода на русский язык, но категорически запредельно сложного английского здесь нет, при базовом школьном знании играть вполне можно.
Подготовка
1. Скачиваем мод с официальной страницы на Nexus. Базовый архив занимает 12 (двенадцать) гигабайт, после распаковки мод займет 25 (двадцать пять) гигабайт.

2. Скачиваем с Nexus необходимые для мода плагины и модификации. Их немного. Мод для расширенного использования памяти
FNV 4GB (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552). В GOG-версии игры это расширение уже интегрировано, для Стим-версий надо установить. Разработчики уверяют, что расширение подходит для всех известных релизов Fallout: New Vegas.
xNVSE –New Vegas Script Extension (https://github.com/xNVSE/NVSE/releases). Расширение возможностей скриптов оригинальной игры. Крайне популярная у мододелов вещь. Скачивайте последнюю версию, ссылки на архив со свежей версией в верхней части страницы.
JOHNNY GUITAR [версия 3.40+] (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66927) – еще одно скриптовое расширение с исправлением некоторых ошибок движка игры.
JIP LN NVSE (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/58277) – еще один скриптовый плагин с добавлением более 900 новых функций для скриптинга.
UIO — User Interface Organizer (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57174) – просто плагин для улучшения игрового интерфейса
Fallout Mod Manager – FOMM (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54991) – модменеджер, в котором мы и подключим Fallout: The Frontier к нашей игре.
Не надо пугаться сложных названий, сложного ничего нет.
Установка
Скачанные архивы распаковываем каждый в свою отдельную директорию, сначала установим плагины, потом саму модификацию Frontier. Первым делом устанавливаем патч FNV 4GB. Распакованное содержимое архива скопируйте в папку с игрой, для Стим-версии это %диск%\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas, если вы не указали иного.
Запустите файл falloutNVpatch .exe от имени администратора, запускаемый файл игры будет пропатчен для использования большего объема памяти, оригинальный файл будет переименован в FalloutNV_backup.exe
Содержимое архива xNVSE также необходимо скопировать в папку с игрой, запустить файл nvse_loader.exe, открыть игровую консоль кнопкой «`» (тильда) и ввести команду GetNVSEVersion. Если все в порядке, вы увидите версию установленного NVSE.
Дальше проще, содержимое архива JOHNNY GUITAR – все .ini .dll файлы необходимо положить в папку %путь_к_игре%\Fallout New Vegas\Data\NVSE\Plugins — если папки Plugins нет, создайте ее.
Содержимое архива JIP LN NVSE Plugin скопируйте в папку %путь_к_игре%\Fallout New Vegas\Data, аналогично необходимо поступить с архивом UIO — User Interface Organizer.
Ставим на подготовленную почву сам Fallout: The Frontier. Сначала установим модменеджер FOMM, он удобнее встроенного в лончер тем, что позволяет определить порядок загрузки модификаций, иногда это важно. И может настроить другие игровые параметры.
Запустите скачанный файл-установщик FOMM и установите программу в удобное для вас место. Пока не запускайте установленную программу. Сначала поставим сам Фронтир.
Распакуйте содержимое архива модификации в папку %путь_к_игре%\Fallout New Vegas\Data. Вот теперь пора запускать FOMM. Если возникнет диалог с предложением сделать .ini-файлы доступными для чтения, разрешите это изменение. Модменеджер может работать с Fallout 3 и с New Vegas, выберите Новый Вегас.
Установим галочки, как указано на рисунке. Сам мод Фронтир перетащим по списку вверх – как опять же указано на рисунке.
Все! Теперь можно запускать игру. Можно использовать имеющиеся сохранения. Чтобы наверняка дождаться гонца с приглашением на Фронтир проще всего переместиться в стартовый городок Гудспрингс и подождать вестника там. Но еще лучше начать новую игру с чистого листа – так как Фронтир по сути отдельная игра на базе Fallout: New Vegas.
Новая игра начнется как обычно, в доме доктора в Гудспрингс, пройдите обязательные процедуры инициации нового персонажа и выходите из дома. Сразу же к вам подбежит посыльный, который и расскажет о новой локации на северо-западе Пустошей. Там набирают добровольцев послужить благу человечества на Севере США.
В дальнейшем вы сможете выбрать себе один из четырех игровых классов и получите очки опыта для распределения во Фронтире.
